Indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adaults with type 2 diabetes melitus
■ Dosage & Administration
Dosage should be determined based on each patient’s current therapy, efficacy, and tolerability. This drug is usually administered once a daily with dinner, and the dose is adjusted in stages to reduce the gastrointestinal side effects asssoicated with metformin.
20/1000mg sustained-release tablet is to be taken once a day, 1 tablet at a time.
In patients unable to achieve adequate glycemic control with metformin monotherapy, the initial dose should be teneligliptin 20mg once daily and the conventional dose of metformin. In patients transitioning from teneligliptin and metformin combination therapy to this drug, dose may be initiated at the existing dose of teneligliptin and metformin. When converting metformin from immediate-release to sustained-release, glycemic control should be closely monitored and dose adjustments should be made appropriately. When co-administered with sulfonylurea, a reduction in sulfonylurea may be considered to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
