Treatment of dementia of the Alzheimer’s type.
■ Dosage & Administration
Adults: 5mg once a day before bedtime. Should take 5mg per day for 4 to 6 weeks, since the frequency of adverse reactions may be affected by the rate of dose increase. The dose may be increased to 10mg after evaluating the clinical response during this period. When the dose is increased to 10 mg per day, administer it while paying attention to adverse reactions in the digestive system.
Decrease dose gradually when discontinuing the drug.
Underweight female patients over 85 years of age: Should be monitored carefully, therefore many adverse reactions could occur. Older women who are underweight should not exceed 5mg per day.
